The Associated Press is a not-for-profit cooperative that offers two types of membership: regular and associate.

Regular membership is available to printed newspapers published in the United States. Most regular members are daily newspapers.

Associate membership is available to daily newspapers, some weekly newspapers and broadcast stations.

Both regular and associate members receive AP news and photos. Regular members agree to contribute news to the AP. Regular members alone are entitled to vote in elections for the AP Board of Directors.

AP members qualify for the member discount on AP Stylebook purchases.

Subscribing to or purchasing an AP Stylebook product does not qualify you or your organization for AP membership, nor does subscribing to or purchasing AP content including photos or news stories.

To receive the AP member discount on Stylebook products, create an account (https://www.apstylebook.com/users/sign_up) and we will verify that you work for a news organization that is an AP member. If you have already created an account, please add your AP MDM ID on the "Edit my user settings" (https://www.apstylebook.com/users/edit) page. We review these requests manually when you place an order so you will experience a delay while we check your status.
