Merriam-Webster is the preferred dictionary of the AP Stylebook. In many cases where the AP Stylebook does not include an entry on a word or phrase, it's because it's already in Merriam-Webster and the Stylebook's editors agree with that guidance.

If your Stylebook Online account does not currently include access to Merriam-Webster, you can add it to your subscription by going to the My Products page of your account dashboard and clicking the "Upgrade Now" button on the right of the Merriam-Webster line.

Adding Merriam-Webster content does not add additional time to your subscription, it adds dictionary content to your subscription for everyone with access to your license for the remainder of your subscription.
